Welcome to Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education (ACEEE)

ACEEE is a subsidiary of Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship, (ICEnt) – established with Corporate Charter by Companies and Allied Matters Act, Cap. C20, LFN, 2004 and the first in Africa to be globally certified to ISO 21001:2018 with scope including Quality Assurance in Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Education. ACEEE is a member of The Global Confederation of Entrepreneurship Institutes (Home of Entrepreneurship and Innovation).These institutes and their individual members collaborate through ACEEE to develop standards of quality, known as ACEEE Criteria, on which our review teams base their evaluations of programmes and/or institutions under consideration for accreditation.

The Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education (ACEEE) is the only African quality assurance body with a focus entrepreneurship and enterprise education in formal and non-formal education. As such, ACEEE strives to lead the way in a new era for higher education through evaluating, supporting and igniting the potential of tertiary institutions on their road to third mission excellence. ACEEE offers accreditation for entrepreneurship and enterprise education on institutional (entire tertiary institution) and divisional level (faculty, college, school, and department). Tertiary institutions engaging in ACEEE accreditation are united by their excellence in entrepreneurship and enterprise education.

ACEEE also has been admitted as an Accredited Member of the Board of Quality Standards (BQS) with certificate number NCCBS30112161. ACEEE has fulfilled the Validation criteria of BQS and is fully approved by the chairman of IAC and can participate at INQAAHE Worldwide conference as BQS member.

BQS is recognized and listed by the European registry. The BQS promote Education and transnational education issues, accreditation and Quality assurance and provide statement of comparability of foreign education provider to that of the European Qualification Framework. BQS recognised and promote legitimate education providers interested in providing sustainable education and development in their communities in EU level and international level by way of Accreditation and recognition, Agency Memberships and professional recognition, Quality awards and certifications. The Board of Quality Standards is an independent international quality assurance regulator and a member of the International Quality Assurance Agencies for Higher Education (INQAAHE). The organisation is an independent international legal personality governed by charter to serve as a Quality Assurance Authoritative Body to promote quality assurance in Higher education and certification bodies.

INQAAHE is a world-wide association of 300+ organisations active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education.

PURPOSE OF ACEEE

The main objective of ACEEE is accreditation for entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes, making assessment in order to contribute to enhancing the quality of entrepreneurship and enterprise education within and outside Nigeria. Thus, it is aimed to improve the welfare of the society by educating people to be better educated and more qualified entrepreneurship professionals equipped with a well-rounded and internationally-relevant entrepreneurship and enterprise education based on an internationally-competitive curriculum, but also provides them with extensive practical experience, effective mentoring and industry-relevant skills required for turning ideas into viable businesses.

    ACEEE’s mission is to challenge the status quo in higher education accreditation by moving beyond the so-called third mission of tertiary institutions (an umbrella term for innovation, tertiary institution-business cooperation, civic engagement, outreach, technology transfer etc.), to academic entrepreneurship, so as to make tertiary institutions engines for societal and economic development.

    • Evaluating and accrediting entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes upon the application of institutions
    • Continuously monitoring the current and future needs of the stakeholders of entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes
    • Organising meetings such as national and international courses, seminars, conferences, panels, workshops etc. and supporting the other activities within this scope
    • Communicating, cooperating, conducting joint projects, helping each other with national and international associations, professional organisations and accreditation bodies related to education, evaluation and accreditation
    • To prepare the accreditation processes of entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes and the sustainable infrastructure for graduate programmes
    • To adapt entrepreneurship and enterprise education accreditation processes to national and international external quality assessment processes

    ACTIVITIES OF ACEEE

    In line with this purpose, ACEEE aims to advance the welfare of the society by educating people to be better educated and more qualified entrepreneurship professionals equipped with a well-rounded and internationally-relevant entrepreneurship and enterprise education based on an internationally-competitive curriculum, but also provides them with extensive practical experience, effective mentoring and industry-relevant skills required for turning ideas into viable businesses.

    ACEEE carries out the following activities as stated in the association's statute in order to realise its establishment goals:

    Evaluating and accrediting entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes upon the application of institutions,

    Conducting the selection and training of evaluators to take part in accreditation studies,

    Informing and training the programme managers and faculty members about programme evaluation,

    Constantly monitoring the current and future needs of the stakeholders of entrepreneurship and enterprise education programmes, to determine the programme evaluation criteria, to review and renew the evaluation criteria and processes when necessary,

    Organising courses, seminars, conferences, panels, workshops etc. meetings at national and international level in order to realise its goals, and supporting the activities within this scope,

    Communicating, cooperating, carrying out joint projects, helping each other with national and international associations, professional organisations and accreditation organisations regarding education, evaluation and accreditation,

    To carry out joint projects with public institutions and organisations in matters that fall within their scope of duty, without prejudice to the provisions of relevant laws.

    Making international mutual and multilateral recognition agreements,

    Being a member of relevant national and international organisations,

    To make or have it made examinations and researches for the activation and development of its activities,

    To obtain all kinds of information, documents and publications required to achieve their objectives, to establish a documentation centre, to create a web page, to announce their work, publishing publications such as newspapers, magazines, books, and to distribute them to their members, To prepare relevant printed, audio-visual material, to disseminate by mail and e-mail,

    Establishing and operating economic, commercial and industrial enterprises, or partnering with similar-purpose enterprises in order to obtain the incomes needed to achieve their goals

    Buying, selling, renting and leasing movebles and immovables and establishing the same right on immovables, which are needed for activities,

    Establishing a federation or joining an established federation if deemed necessary for the realisation of the purpose, establishing facilities that associations can establish with permission by obtaining the necessary permissions, establishing foundation associations with some of their properties,

    To create platforms to achieve a common goal with other associations, foundations, unions, unions and similar non-governmental organisations in areas related to its objectives and not prohibited by law.

    ABOUT THE CONSTITUENT PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTES

    ACEEE serves the interests of its member institutes. Representing several professionals around the world, these member societies set policy, develop strategy and conduct accreditation activities worldwide on behalf of their professions. Through ACEEE membership, the institutes:

    Determine the threshold set of knowledge, skills and abilities needed for successful entry into their respective fields by establishing accreditation criteria for their areas of responsibility.

    Serve as the source of the more than 1,200 dedicated volunteer experts (also known as Programme Evaluators) who conduct the hands-on work of accreditation.

C20, LFN, 2004 and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria as a professional institute on entrepreneurship.     The Institute of Youth Entrepreneurship and Leadership (YELEAD) is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political and non-sectarian organisation of youth whose activities at national and international levels are aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship and leadership.

    YELEAD is an international professional association designed for youths who are willing to acquire skills and abilities that can help to create and manage new business enterprises or be used as members of an existing organisation which is calling upon employees to act in an entrepreneurial way. It is also aimed at enhancing the skills and abilities of potential youth entrepreneurs, in particular those willing to be part of the SMEs’ sector, by addressing a wide range of operational, managerial, marketing, financial and leadership issues within an entrepreneurial context.

    Youth entrepreneurship has an impact on social as well as cultural and economic progress of the society. Building an environment that promotes creatively and provides opportunities for entrepreneurship calls for multi-pronged strategies implementation and involvement at all levels including Government, industry, political, social, NGO as well as educational sectors.

    A well organised platform for promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship can help solve as well as avoid a lot of problems that are currently staring at the countries and pave way for a better future and progressive societies world over. YELEAD has the mandate of pursuing entrepreneurial and political leadership excellence by education, advocacy, research; recognising scholars and achievers; providing advisory and think tank functions for shaping the nation’s leadership strategies and policies; and implementing key entrepreneurship and leadership programmes.     The International Institute of Female Entrepreneurship (IIFEM) is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political and non-sectarian organisation of women whose activities at national and international levels are aimed at promoting women entrepreneurship.

    IIFEM is an international professional association designed for females who are willing to acquire skills and abilities that can help to create and manage new business enterprises or be used as members of an existing organisation which is calling upon employees to act in an entrepreneurial way. It is also aimed at enhancing the skills and abilities of potential female entrepreneurs, in particular those willing to be part of the SMEs’ sector, by addressing a wide range of operational, managerial, marketing, financial and leadership issues within an entrepreneurial context.

    Our members would be provided with information, knowledge, skills, and attitudes that would enable them perform well as classic entrepreneurs (those driven by desire for financial independence, freedom, own boss, challenge, creativity, success, control, responsibility, decisions, more money, less tax and opportunity alertness).

    Our expectation is that these competencies will in turn help them deploy their zeal for nation building in a very efficient manner as anything short of that will be handling Nigerian problems of repositioning the women with kid gloves.
